Hi, friends! You might have noticed that I've been absent for a while, and I wanted to explain why. Two weeks ago, I went to the ER because I was basically non-functioning. I was very cold, dizzy, fatigued, weak, nauseous, and feeling like I was going to faint. Eight and a half hours later, I was admitted and in my new "home" for the next 12 days. I learned that my blood pressure was super low, I was constantly running high fevers, and my overall blood count was super low. My white blood count was 1 (normal is 4.5-10), so I basically had no immune system. I also have these lumps on my face, neck, chest, and back that started showing up mid-August that we haven't been able to figure out. I had 2 biopsies, 2 CT scans, and blood tests up the wazzoo (in the hospital) for a week, but nothing was showing up and nothing was working. Finally, my doctor put me on Prednisone as a Band-aid until we can figure out what is going on. I improved rapidly and am finally out of the hospital. Hopefully, I find out this week what is causing all of this, so we can actually treat the cause, not just the symptoms! The doctors kept coming in every day and telling me that I am a "mystery" patient. Go figure...I march to the beat of my own drummer even when I'm sick! lol
So, there you have it, School (and my health) is definitely my priority right now, seeing as I missed 2 tests and a ton of time (with more tests on the close horizon), but don't count me out just yet. I have recipes from before that are waiting to post, as well as new stuff! Stay tuned. :)
1 pieces of love:
Wow! So sorry to hear about this! Glad you are doing better!
